The following papers were recently accepted. In each of them our team was involved

  • Influence of chemisorption on the double hysteresis phenomenon during reactive sputtering, accepted for publication in Applied Surface Science

In this paper, the RSD model was used to study the effect of chemisorption on the double hysteresis phenomenon. The main work was performed by Josja Van Bever (DRAFT).

  • Linking simulated polycrystalline thin film microstructures to physical vapor deposition conditions, accepted for publication in Acta Materialia.

This research was performed in collaboration with the Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies, Sandia National Laboratories, US. This team is active in phase field simulations and have used our simulation input (based on SiMTRA) to study the growth of thin films by modelling. First author is Joe Monti.

  • Cell behavior changes and enzymatic biodegradation of hybrid electrospun poly(3-hydroxybutyrate)-based scaffolds with an enhanced piezoresponse after the addition of reduced graphene oxide, accepted for publication in Advanced Healthcare Materials.

As title indicates this research studies the scaffolds with an enhanced piezo-response. The research is performed by Roman Chernozem, a joint PhD student between Ghent University (Department of Biotechnology at the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering) and National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University.  Our contribution was assistance using XPS.

  • Chemical stability of sputter deposited silver layers, accepted for publication in Coatings

Silver thin films with and without Al seed layer were deposited on glass, and their chemical stability was tested based on in-house developed monitoring set-up. The work was performed by Diederik Depla who is the sole author on this paper.
