The Spermatophytes and Pteridophyta Research Groups of the department of Biology, Faculty of Sciences, collaborate closely with the Botanical Garden. Their research is directed towards morphology and anatomy as well as towards molecular genetics. Several projects rely on the available living plant collections. The Botanical Garden co-ordinates the acquisition of seeds, bulbs, spores, cuttings etc. with a view to maintaining and extending scientific reference collections.
