Laura Luciani

Laura Luciani is a PhD fellow at the Institute for International and European Studies of Ghent University, with a scholarship from the Special Fund for Research (BOF). Her research examines the EU’s policies of human rights ‘promotion’ and support to local civil society in the South Caucasus countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia).
Before starting her PhD in March 2018, Laura has interned at the European Commission and European Endowment for Democracy (Brussels) and volunteered at the Women's Information Center, an NGO based in Tbilisi (Georgia). Currently, she is an editor with the Italian online newspaper East Journal and a co-author of Kiosk, a radio programme focused on Eastern Europe.
