Dr. Petra Debusscher

Petra DebusscherDr. Petra Debusscher is a postdoctoral researcher and independent expert on gender mainstreaming and diversity in EU policies. She has 14 years of experience on gender issues in EU policies in the framework of four grant-awarded (post)doctoral research projects and numerous consultancy assignments.
She holds a PhD in EU Studies (Ghent University 2010) on the topic ‘Gender mainstreaming in EU development policy’ and has published and taught extensively on these topics. Her work has appeared in Development and Change, Political Studies Review, European Journal of Development Research, Journal of Women, Politics & Policy, International Development Planning Review, European Journal of Women’s Studies, among others.
She has worked as a gender expert for the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE), the Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development (DG DEVCO), the Research Executive Agency (REA), the European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT), the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) and the European Parliament’s FEMM committee.
