On Friday 18 June 2021 (16.00 CET), Dr. Janna Coomans (University of Amsterdam) will present on ‘Pigs and Plague: Public Health and Community in the Late Medieval Low Countries’. Dr. Coomans is a postdoctoral researcher at the ERC Consolidator project 'Healthscaping Urban Europe: Bio-Power, Space and Society, 1200-1500' (University of Amsterdam, Prof. Guy Geltner). Her project within this larger ERC team explores the practices of various agents to promote communal wellbeing in the late medieval urban Low Countries.
This lecture is part of the digital series organised by the Belgo-British Research Network for Medieval Urban History, hosted by Queen Mary University London and the Henri Pirenne Institute for Medieval Studies at Ghent University. The digital lectures are organised every fortnight on Friday afternoon. They are open to all. To register, please contact Stefan.Meysman@UGent.be.
