Center for Biotech Data Science



The Center for Biotech Data Science was established to pursue the development of new mathematical and computational approaches for extracting knowledge from vast sets of biotech data (e.g., omics data, clinical records and medical imagery), paying attention to technical challenges like predictive analysis and complexity reduction of biochemical systems. The newly developed approaches will have a variety of applications, ranging from cancer research and medical diagnosis to novel drug development and plant phenotyping.

  1. Shallow and deep machine learning for biotech data science (genome annotation, medical image understanding, health record analysis)
  2. Stability analysis of numerical schemes for reaction diffusion systems
  3. 3-D plant phenotyping through photogrammetry
  4. Development of a polymorphic and continuous system for automated packaging
  5. Stability analysis of multisite phosphorylation systems
