Ghent Student Council launches chat line

(09-11-2021) The Ghent Student Council launches a chat line aimed at the mental well-being of students.

With the new project called Epione, the Ghent Student Council wants to give students a place to vent their feelings.

"Because there is a need for more individual low-threshold free help for students for long enough." - initiator Oshin

The chat line is manned every evening by volunteer students. Although Epione does not offer professional help, the chat can get students started by offering a listening ear, advice or possibly referral to one of the university help services or external help. No matter how big or small your problems are.

"Talking helps, but there are sometimes too many barriers, so we let things drag on. Here we try to remove as many barriers as possible and offer a listening ear." - initiator Jarne

The Epione chat line is available every evening from 7pm. Opening hours may vary depending on the week.
