Prof Margarida Barroso will give a lecture on the development of novel imaging assays to screen and optimize anti-cancer drug-target delivery.

This lecture is part of the Interdisciplinary Medical and Health Seminars. Guest speaker: Prof Margarida Barroso

Prof Barroso’s research goal is to accelerate pre-clinical drug discovery by developing novel imaging assays to screen and optimize the delivery of targeted anti-cancer drugs. She is also interested in the regulation of membrane trafficking pathways and of receptormediated cholesterol and iron transport in vitro and in vivo. Prof. Barroso’s diverse expertise integrates basic cell biology with methodological advances in imaging technology to position her research group as a major force in the visualization, quantitation, and optimization of drug delivery into cancer cells using receptor-targeted approaches.
