Ine Lietaert attained a PhD in Social Work (Ghent University) with a research on the return and reintegration processes of assisted returnees from Belgium. She works at UNU-CRIS (Brugge) as assistant professor in global governance and regional integration, with a specific focus on migration governance. She is also affiliated to the Department of Social Work and Social Pedagogy of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at Ghent University, where she teaches International Social Work and guides PhD students investigating processes of return and reintegration, internal migration and wellbeing of unaccompanied refugee minors. In her work, she has a particular focus on the development of support mechanisms and support policies for people on the move in various regions of the world.
