Intercultural debate for students on food losses and food waste

All food interested students at the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering at Ghent
University are invited to attend
an intercultural and international debate concerning food losses and food
waste.
The debate will be opened by Katrien Verbeke, founder of “Let Us” and
coordinator of the urban food policy “Gent en Garde”. She will explain issues
related to food losses and food waste and share her experience in finding
solutions to increase food systems’ sustainability.
Following this introduction, a discussion in small groups with peers from the
different master programs, different backgrounds, origins and cultures is
initiated. Each group will be assigned a specific scenario for which the most
relevant issues and solutions can be discussed. In a short pitch these solutions
can be presented to the audience.
