Jorn Van de VeldeBio

During my youth, many activities sparked the interest for nature and environmental issues, so the choice for Bio-Science Engineering was an easy one. Within that framework, I finally chose for a MSc. in land and water management for the bigger picture it offers with respect to climate change and the effects on soil, hydrology and our living world.

I had the chance to work on the use of copulas for return periods during my master’s thesis, which broadened up a whole world for me. I continue this in my work at the Laboratory for Hydrology and Water Management, where I’ll research the impact of including copulas in the modelling of future discharges.
