After Hurricane Harvey first struck the Gulf coast in late August, Irma whirled over the Caribbean and Florida a few days later and, just last week, Maria left Puerto Rico absolutely devastated. In addition to the human suffering, the storms have strained U.S. energy infrastructure, raising serious questions about President Donald Trump’s energy policy and priorities.

As chair of the Working Group international relations of the federal council for sustainable development (FDRO), Prof. Dries lesage cowrote an advice from civil society to the Belgian government. The advice concerns the Belgian draft report on the execution of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations in Belgium. The report wil be presented at a UN-conference in New York.
